SIA Liden & Denz Riga

After four weeks learning Russian here, I've come away with much more confidence in my speaking and listening. I had previously studied Russian grammar intensely, but stumbled when I had to introduce myself. At Liden & Denz, I was exposed to lessons taught exclusively in Russian, and when you are placed in that environment for long periods, it is much easier to pick up communication skills. The teachers are engaging and push students to ensure they are successful. There are also enough classes that you can also be sure to be with people the same level as you, so you are not held back.From a social perspective, students spend lots of time outside of class together exploring Riga and its many cultural offerings. As someone who has been on immersive language schools previously, I can honestly say that this was a first-class experience, with a lovely community feeling combined with a strong work ethic. Highly recommended, and I hope to return myself!

My name is Mark Kennedy, and I spent six weeks both doing an internship for and studying Russian with Liden and Denz in Riga, Latvia. I was immediately impressed in my first lesson at the ability of the staff to not just explain the language, but to help me integrate what I learned into everyday life. In terms of outside the classroom, I've really enjoyed getting together with other students and hanging out with my flat mates. I've been able to get along very well with everybody. I would recommend studying Russian with Liden and Denz to any student wishing to further their language capabilities, and I plan on coming back in the future.

The team at Liden and Denz have created a program tailored to the international community that is the best of both worlds: rigorous and friendly. The instruction, materials, facilities, and location far exceeded my expectations. They put me in just the right level of class and, after four weeks of daily group lessons and living with a host family, I could feel a strengthening of my weak areas of grammar and communication. No, I didn’t magically raise 2 levels in a month, but I did grow and got inspired to continue my studies once returning home. If you want to practice your Russian, I can say that in my month there I found that just about everyone I interacted with in town was able to speak Russian (yes, some locals do feel weird about it because of the political situation). Additionally, I experienced a strong sense of community among the students, which made my time as a foreigner abroad that much more enjoyable. I think you would not be disappointed if you choose to continue your Russian studies abroad with Liden and Denz in Riga.

I had a great time here doing an internship and learning Russian. The campus is located in a nice, central location only a short walk from the historic city center. The lessons were quite intensive and I was able to improve my knowledge of Russian quite a lot in only a month time. We also talked a lot about Latvian and Russian culture during class which was great as it gave me some great background knowledge to the language and inspiration for my internship. The internship was very fun as well because I had a lot of freedom writing blog posts about things that interest me about Latvia, Russia or the language itself. Thanks for the amazing experience! I‘ll definitely be back if I get the chance.

I am grateful for the internship opportunity i received at Liden and Denz in Riga. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The Russian language courses were structured, fun and well-prepared. It's the perfect place to meet new people and get to know Russian culture. I was at Liden & Denz for 10 weeks, and I have definitely felt my Russian improve tremendously. If you are looking for an intensive, everyday Russian language program, this is a good option to improve your Russian and explore Riga

The materials were useful, and the school is in a great location with good facilities. Victoria was an excellent teacher however the other two teachers I had were difficult to work with. Both were patronising and would routinely try to humiliate students for making mistakes.The management and administration staff were also very nice.

Für 4 Wochen war ich in Riga. Die Schule war fordernd und dadurch habe ich einen respektablen Level innert nur kurzer Zeit erreicht. Kann ich wärmstens empfehlen! Vergesst nicht an den Exkursionen teilzunehmen, Natalia wird sich auf euch freuen, grüsst sie von mir :).After 4 weeks attending a Russian language course at Liden & Denz I can truly recommend it! The teachers there are really dedicated and the environment could not be better. They spoke only Russian the whole time. Quite tough at first but I made so fast progress!
