Rumbula Forest Memorial
Klusa, bet traģiska vieta. Apkārt menoras svečturim atrodasakmeņi, kuros ir iekalti šeit nogalināto vārdi. Atsevišķos akmeņos, ir iegravēti Rīgas geto teritorijas ielu nosaukumi. Masu kapu vietas iezīmētas ar taisnstūra betona apmalēm.The memorial, unveiled in 2002, is a moving sight. The small stones around the menorah carry the name of many of the Latvian Jews - Riga Ghetto residents, that were killed here. Even more, they have been placed there corresponding to the street on which they were settled. There's also a list there with the names of them. The mass graves are marked with concrete barriers.

lai gan liekas nekorekti noverteet pieminas vietu, tomer si ir patikami klusa vietina sosejas malaa, pauzot ironisku kontrastu tam kas seit noticis pirmiit. ka ari miskastes biezi vien parpilditas ar alus pudelem, miskastes savaksanas regularitate ir absaubama

Very serene and poignant. Definitely nice to visit. Not touristy, no coffee shop etc which makes it very impactful.

Somber and utterly thought provoking one can't help but feel overwhelmed emotionally. It's a place everyone should visit, if only once, to pay silent respect to the victims of atrocity and to reflect on the evil man is always capable of projecting so it never happens again.

The memorial is deeply moving. The contrast between the peaceful setting, with birds singing, and the horrors of the atrocities committed there is enormous. We traveled by bus and used GPS to find our way there.
