Unpleasant experience with school principal, psychologist and administration.The way the administration communicates is rigid, lacking professionalism and kindness. The psychology department at the school is unprofessional. Evaluations being conducted by an uncertified psychologist and no official reports being given to parents. Inappropriate for principal families are given reports from psychologists. Unfortunately, there are many cases we know about.The quality of food provided is poor and there are safety concerns as there is no nurse or first aid available for injuries. The professionalism of staff is also questionable, unqualified personnel spending time with children and writing behavioral protocols from 4-6 pm.There are significant issues with diversity, and inclusion at the school. As most students speaking Russian, Latvian and German speaking children in our class had problems with inclusion and therefore left. We just would prefer more diversity in international school.It is not advisable to trust promises made by the principal as they are often empty and not fulfilled.Also be carefull with invoices. There were several times mistakes were found. But when we left the school, we recieved a letter about 9 000 EUR dept for unpaid invoices (!). When I was going to send a reply with bank approval of payments were made previously, they send appology for mistake.I am thankfull to this school for nice people we met, also my daughter's teachers were nice and we had good relationships. Unfortunately, son's last teacher just left during school year as well as their first teacher left to Switzerland as had some unsolved questions with principal. Children were without main teacher that caused problems inside the class.

- Small and unspacious premises (some groups are outside - kids need to wear clothes to go to extracurruculum activities), also non-appropriate (for the standard International school) playground;- Very unprofessional in field of Psychology (making non-professional kids assessments - done by uncertified Psychologist, cannot show to Parents any of professionally documented reports);- Safety accidents and non-human reaction to kids injuries from administration of the school (Our external school doctor whom we consulted was “surprised” that this accident

Vienīga šīs skolas noteicoša priekšrocība ir vācu valodā. Kopumā izglītības līmenis vājš, neadekvāta administrācija, (direktors bijušais karavīrs, necieš diskusijas un viedokļus, kas nav vienisprātis ar viņa - vienīgo pareizo ), lielākā daļa skolēnu krievvalodīgie, t.i. priekšrocība, ja vēlaties , lai bērns apgūtu krievu valodu. Slikta ēdināšana, kamēr bērni mācījās, divu gadu laikā problēma netika atrisināta. Ir jauki skolotāji, kas gan bieži tiek mainīti, atbrauc uz neilgu laiku vai neiztur. Iesaku apsvērt citas iespējas, pirms doties uz šo skolu, un neticēt direktora solījumiem.

Больше всего хотела ребенка оформить именно в эту школу.Психолог провела тест для ребёнка (в этот день у неё не было голоса. Даже мне было сложно понимать её речь, приходилось прислушиваться). Психолог сказала, что мы ей очень понравились и тест прошли хорошо. Директору написала, что у нас нет когнитивных способностей и что ребенок недостаточно хорош для языковой школы. По сути было принято решение нас не брать, но решение нам не было озвучено.Вместо этого, нас направили к аудиологопеду в больницу за справкой, потом возможно к неврологу, надо было посещать простого логопеда чтобыпоставить букву Р (нам только исполнилось 5) и поставили в очередь". Excellent school with great teaching staff. Our family was very satisfied with the quality of education and personable approach in this school. The language progress was great and our daughter was always happy to go to school. They do a lot of great activities and projects, go for walks and play time in nearby parks, go on field trips and organise different events for kids and families. They also offer good extra curricular activities. We always received information on school activities and information on what kids have been doing every week so felt well informed. Over all we were very satisfied with this school. We have now moved to another country and our daughter goes to another Deutsche Schule here and she is at the same level if not ahead of other kids in her new pre school group.

Diezgan dīvaina iestāde - liekas, ka ej vācu bērnudārzā/skolā un sagaidi kārtību un nopietnu pieeju organizācijai, bet realitātē ir cita.2020.g. beigās bijam uz pārrunām ar direktoru, kur bija teikts, ka uzņemšana sāksies ar jaunā kelndāra gada sākumu un labāk ātrāk pieteikties, jo aprīlī ir atverto durvju diena un tad jau noteikti vietu vairs nebūs.Sākot ar februāri mēģinājām pieteikt bērnu, bet neviens īsti nevarēja pateikt ko tad tieši ir jāizdara, lai bērns tiktu uzņemts. Vairākkārt zvanījām un jautājām par to, kāda ir situācija. Atbilde bija - nevaram pateikt vai bērns tiks uzņēmts nākamajā mācību gadā". Kad varēsiet pateikt? - "nezinam

This is the 6th year our children go to German School of Riga and year after year it only becomes better. The premises are big enough for a number of children they house and absolutely appropriate from any point of view. The outside premises (new and very spacious) are now used by the toddlers group not involved yet in any kind of extracurricular activity. There are three playgrounds for different age groups, and in good weather the children have the possibility to go to play in Kronvalda parks which is just 5 min walk from the school.We've got great help from the School psychologist whom we addressed several times with various problems. Not to speak about the school stuff - native speakers, professional teachers, carefully chosen and absolutely loved by children. As for the language skills - children start to speak German fluently already in kindergarten, and at the end of School they are supposed to speak at least 4 languages and obtain the German school-leaving certificate.For those who have any kind of problem with the comprehension of German (for the new kids who just arrived to School) there are additional hours of teaching German with personal approach, as well as special summer course for beginners. They also have two levels language course for parents.All of my children are involved in extracurricular activities, and they are also on the highest level. The school has it's own ballet studio with a professional ballet teacher who organizes not only in-house ballet classes for all the age groups, but also makes the children perform in various concerts. In school children can also take piano, violin, guitar lessons with the professional teachers. There is also a football team who starts to show good results on international school competitions, as well as other sport groups.The school organizes nice excursions and field trip several times a year, every time different! Children get so happy and excited! They make in time to do all their homework at school. Evening personnel if they don't speak German also study it. Schoolchildren are supervised up to 18.30 which is also a great help for parents. The kids are safe, happy, have good results in all subjects. The School is in the very center of Riga, for us it is also important.Of course, when children play outside, everything can happen. And of course, the parents get so upset when the child gets hurt that the things look in a very bad way for them. But I see that the school stuff and management does really a lot to assure safe and amicable environment for our kids. And we wish them a lot of patience and strength to keep the School's level as high as it is, and to become even better.

My two children have been going to school and kindergarten for three years. The most important thing for us is that children feel comfortable, they have a lot of friends. We see good progress in languages, while learning is not stressful, they have a lot of entertainment and interesting activities. Special thanks to the administration for understanding and attentive attitude to the problems that arise.

Mēs aizgājām no šīs skolas, un gan bērni, gan paši redzam, ka vajadzēja to izdarīt ātrāk. Ir daudz labu privātskolu Latvijā, tagad saprotam, ka nedrīkst samierināties ar neērtībām, augstpratīgo administrācijas attieksmi, slikto ēdināšanu un daudzu skolotāju zemo kvalifikāciju tikai lokācijas un vācu valodas dēļ.
